Echeveria LoveBird, a striking succulent in the Echeveria genus, is renowned for its uniquely ruffled leaves. Its dramatic appearance makes it a favorite among collectors.
Echeveria LoveBird Plant Characteristics
Leaves: Broad, thick, and irregularly shaped with wavy, ruffled edges. A light powdery coating covers the surface. Ample sunlight and temperature differences turn the leaf edges deep purplish-red; insufficient light causes a dull grayish-green color and flatter ruffles.
Growth Form: Rosette-shaped, up to 20 cm in diameter. The sturdy stem easily develops into an aged trunk, especially when clustered.
Flowers: Blooms in late spring - early summer. Tall cymes bear bell-shaped flowers with pale yellow bases and orange-red tips.
Echeveria LoveBird Growth Habits
Thrives in warm, dry, well-ventilated environments with full sun. Prefers 60%-70% gritty, well-draining soil. Ideal growth temperature: 15–28°C. Growth slows above 35°C (needs shade), protect indoors below 5°C. Sufficient light keeps leaves compact and colorful; lack of light leads to stretching. Best grown outdoors in spring and autumn; avoid high humidity in summer to prevent rot.
