Echeveria Red Wine Champagne Plant Characteristics

Leaves: Long-spoon shaped, thick, and rosette-arranged. With a powdery coating, leaves turn deep purplish-red at edges/tips under sunlight, while the center stays pale green. Lack of light causes grayish-green leaves and loose growth.

Growth Form: Small to medium-sized, 8 - 12 cm in diameter. Short stems produce lateral buds, forming multi-headed clusters. Aged plants have a rustic look.
Flowers: Blooms in spring and summer. Orange-red bell-shaped flowers with yellow tips grow on slender stalks.

Echeveria Red Wine Champagne Growth Habits

Thrives in warm, dry, sunny, and well-ventilated conditions. Drought-tolerant but hates waterlogging. Prefers 60 - 70% gritty soil. Optimal temp: 15 - 28°C. Enters semi-dormancy above 32°C, needs shade and less water. Keep above 5°C in winter. Sunlight and temperature differences enhance color; insufficient light or overwatering leads to stretching and rot.

Echeveria ‘Orange Monroe’ is a small succulent plant from the Crassulaceae family, belonging to the Echeveria genus. It is a hybrid of Echeveria ‘Carola’ and Echeveria laui. Its spoon-shaped, thick leaves are coated with white farina, and the leaf edges often display an orange-red hue, making it highly ornamental.

Growth Habits:

Orange Monroe thrives in cool, well-lit environments with plenty of sunlight. Its active growing seasons are spring and autumn. It enters dormancy during the high temperatures of summer and the low temperatures of winter. During dormancy, avoid watering the plant. If it becomes too dry, mist it lightly, ensure good ventilation, and provide some shade. Spraying a small amount of water on the soil surface once a week can help prevent root death.

In winter, gradually reduce watering to keep the soil dry, enhancing the plant’s cold resistance. The main propagation methods for Orange Monroe are leaf cuttings or stem cuttings through beheading.
