Hojas: Hojas suculentas, gruesas y ovaladas, con bordes irregulares dentados, similares a las orejas de un conejo, de ahí su nombre. La superficie está cubierta de una densa y suave pelusa. El color base es verde grisáceo, salpicado de una variegación irregular de color blanco amarillento. Con suficiente luz solar, los bordes de las hojas se tornan de color marrón rojizo y la variegación se intensifica; con poca luz, los colores se desvanecen, la variegación se atenúa y la pelusa se vuelve escasa.

Forma de crecimiento: Arbustivo con un tallo erguido que se lignifica con el tiempo, adquiriendo una apariencia rústica de tallo antiguo. Alcanza una altura de 20-30 cm, se ramifica con facilidad y se agrupa con facilidad, creando una forma densa y tupida.

Flores: Florece desde finales de invierno hasta principios de primavera, con tallos delgados y racimos terminales. Las flores, acampanadas, son de color rojo anaranjado, con pétalos curvados hacia afuera y estambres prominentes, que parecen pequeños faroles y contrastan bellamente con el follaje.
